Digging in the dirt...

There's just something about digging in the dirt that makes you appreciate the finer things in life.  It gives you a sense of belonging... a feeling that we are all here for a reason and we all have a purpose.  It just amazes me that you can grow plants, fruit and vegetables from soil, water, and sunlight.
Yesterday, I helped David plant the blackberry vines.  I really didn't want to go out there and dig in the dirt, but once I got there I remembered.  I remembered the reason why we do things like this.  Farming gives you a real feeling of accomplishment and fulfillment.  It brings you hope for a positive future.
Sometimes, you don't have a good season.  When that happens, it can cause depression.  On a positive note, there is always another chance.  A chance to start over...sometimes with a different fruit or vegetable.  You never give up.  You can't give up.  It's a way of life for farmers.  When you get the results, there's nothing better!  Nothing better than the fruits of your labor!  So when God gives us blackberries...we make Blackberry Overload!  And now we wait...
